Jude McCoy began his dance training at the age of 16 under the instruction of Peggy Goodner-Tan at the Academy of Dance in Spokane, Washington. After his initial dance training he went on to study at Texas Christian University, graduating in May 2018 with a BFA in ballet and a minor in criminal justice. Jude received both the Nordan Fine Arts award and a talent-based dance grant to attend the university. While at TCU, Jude performed several soloist and principle roles in TCU's student company, his favorite roles being Third Theme in Balanchine's Four Temperaments (Three Themes) and as the Poet in Les Sylphides. While in Texas, Jude performed for the Festival Ballet of North Central Texas as a soloist, and for Ballet Concerto during their summer seasons. In addition to his performance experience, Jude has choreographed for Big Rig Dance Co-Op, Fort Worth Fringe Festival, and Texas Dance Improvisation Festival, as well as for various recitals and performances at TCU. This will be Jude's first season with Ballet Theatre of Maryland, and he is very excited to begin performing with the company.
