The Summer Intensive is a unique opportunity for students ages 9 to adult interested in a focused, comprehensive training program to make technical progress in classical ballet and contemporary dance forms and repertoire. Classes led by Ballet Theatre of Maryland's faculty and guest instructors feature technique courses, acting seminars, choreography, and mini-workshops. The goal of the Summer Intensive is to further students' dance technique and artistry, creating well-rounded dancers and individuals. Classes meet five full days per week for either a 3-week or 5-week session. All participants are eligible to perform in the Summer Intensive Showcase on Saturday, August 1st.
Auditions for Summer Intensive and Choreographic Institute will be held Sunday, March 8th and 15th, between 12:00 and 3:00pm each day.
Limited scholarship funds are available.
New trainees receive scholarships, approximately 50% for the season, when they sign their contract.
In addition to tuition, Maryland Hall requires a $40 fee for all students not currently Maryland Hall members. Note: Maryland Hall may have additional fees that are added onto BTM Summer Intensive costs. Please contact them for information about those fees.
