Erin Jenkins

Demi-Soloist

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Erin Jenkins received her ballet training at Pittsburgh Ballet House under the direction of Kwang-suk Choi and Sae Young Kang. After competing at ADC/IBC, Erin was offered a scholarship for BalletMet’s trainee program. While there she performed closely with the company and artistic director, Edwaard Liang, in all of their classical productions. She was fortunate to perform principal roles in several of George Balanchine’s ballets such as “Serenade”, “Walpurgisnacht”, “Western Symphony”. Along with other classical roles including Aurora in “Sleeping Beauty” and Swanilda in “Coppelia”. Erin continued her career at Fort Wayne Ballet and had the honor of performing in the world premier of “An Evening of Sterlie” where the company honored Edward Sterlie’s legacy by performing all three of his ballets together for the first time ever. Erin then joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland for their 45th season and had the privilege of dancing multiple featured roles during her first year. She is very excited to have been promoted from Apprentice to Demi Soloist and to continue to grow at BTM.
