Lauren Anderson

Apprentice

Lauren Anderson born in Annapolis, Maryland began her training at County Dance Conservatory where she performed at charity events and festivals including the National Cherry Blossom Festival. She continued her training at Calvert School of Dance where she studied Cecchetti and participated in various competitions and conventions. During this time, Lauren was performing in ballets with Ballet Theatre of Maryland (BTM) where she later joined the conservatory in 2016 and in 2019 studied in the Trainee Program under the direction of Diana Cuatto. At BTM, Lauren had the opportunity to perform in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppélia, and many other classical ballets as well as training in ballet, pas de deux, Horton modern technique, and jazz dance. Continuing her education and training, Lauren received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Point Park University (PPU) where she was a scholarship recipient. In her four years at PPU, Lauren had the opportunity to perform in George Balanchine’s Serenade and as a principal soloist in Who Cares? both set by Jerri Kumery. She also performed as a soloist in Marius Petipa’s Paquita set by Susan Stowe and Lucky 88, a contemporary ballet work created by Daniel Karasik. At PPU, Lauren trained in ballet, pas de deux, contemporary, Graham modern technique, Limon modern technique, concert jazz, commercial jazz, and hip hop. Throughout her training, Lauren has also choreographed and taught ballet classes. Lauren is excited to dance with Ballet Theatre of Maryland again in their upcoming season.
