Marjorie O'hearne

Marjorie O’Hearne began her ballet training at the age of 5 with the Boston Ballet School. Growing up through their Classical, Pre-pro and Summer intensive programs, she got the opportunity to train with many great teachers, including Tamara King, Margret Tracey, Laura Young, Christopher Anderson, Christine Busch, Jessica Kreyer and Alla Nakitina.
Marjorie went on to University of Utah where she was able to continue her education both in ballet and other studies. In 2018 she graduated with a BFA in Ballet, minor in Nutrition and pre-requisites for Physical Therapy school. In her time at the U, she had the pleasure of working with professors such as Jan Fugit, Jay Kim, Maggie Wright-Tesch, Calvin Kitten, Melanie Buchanan and James Ady. As a member of the University’s Character Dance Ensemble she got the opportunity to perform and study character dance abroad in Lviv, Ukraine and the Basque region of Spain.
Marjorie joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland as an apprentice in 2018. She was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2021. In her time with the company she has gotten to perform in productions including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppélia, Giselle, Dracula, Little Slippers, The Little Mermaid, Southwest Carmen, The Snow Queen, Aladdin, Firebird, Snow White, A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as several new works as part of BTM’s Innovations series. After a two year break following an injury, Marjorie is very excited to be returning to the stage with Ballet Theatre of Maryland for the 2024-2025 season.
