Student and senior matinee mini-performances
The Ballet Theatre of Maryland offers student & senior matinee mini-performances on weekday mornings at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. These condensed performances expose students and senior groups to the art, storytelling, and athleticism of ballet with the benefit of full-length production values.
Matinee mini-performances are approximately one hour long and are offered for three of the company’s mainstage productions. The show is preceded by a brief introduction to help viewers understand the ballet and followed by a Q&A with dancers from the professional company. These bite-sized performances introduce children to ballet and the powerful language of dance as a means of understanding literature, history, and culture.
