This scholarship fund will enable interested students to continue their ballet training.
Established in 2024, the Robert Sutton Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the life of longtime BTM supporter, Rob Sutton.
Robert was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the Navy for eight years. He and Erin, his wife, began supporting BTM when their daughter Emily joined the Conservatory in 2012. Always an example of selfless generosity with his time and expertise, Robert would go on to serve on the BTM Board of Trustees for over nine years. His guidance as Vice President and Treasurer had an immeasurable impact on our organization's health and growth, especially during the difficult years surrounding COVID-19.
We are grateful to have known him and remain inspired by his unwavering dedication to helping others. To celebrate his generosity, his years of service on the Board of Trustees, and his steadfast support of our community, the Robert Sutton Memorial Scholarship Fund continues his legacy. Robert considered his crowning accomplishment to be the raising of his daughter, Emily. The Robert Sutton Memorial Scholarship Fund provides young students just like her with the opportunity to dance.
Rob Sutton Young Artist Award

Established in 2024, the Robert Sutton Young Artist Award is named in memory of BTM Board of Trustees member Robert Sutton. Robert, who had served as Vice President and Treasurer during the more than nine years he was a member, showed selfless support not only to BTM but to all of the community organizations he impacted. To honor his example, the Conservatory staff recognizes one student dancer each year for their contributions to their local community with the Robert Sutton Young Artist Award.
