Our in-school adaptations of classic story ballets provide unique opportunities to see professional dancers in costume up close and in-person. A compelling introduction to the language of ballet through a combination of storytelling, audience participation, and professional dance, these performances create a memorable experience that will inspire students.

Sleeping Beauty

In this retelling of the classic tale, The Ballet Theatre of Maryland brings the story of Sleeping Beauty right to your school. Set to Tchaikovsky's timeless score, the company dancers will present excerpts of the ballet while demonstrating the art of storytelling through movement.  This program offers students the unique opportunity to experience a fully costumed, professional production up close along with the chance to learn some of their own ballet steps and pantomime.

Swan Lake

A company of dancers brings a full-fledged ballet into your school! Experience the classical ballet “Swan Lake” in a nutshell, with excerpts from the full-length ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s famous score. Students will experience how costumes, props, ballet, and music work together to convey a story through dance.
